Youth Charity gets Tax Deductible Status (DGR)

Bridge Builders, is looking forward to an increase in financial support, after achieving Deductible Gift Recipient status from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). This now means that any donation of $2 or more to the organisation can be claimed as a tax deduction by the person or business donating the money. This status has opened up a wide range of opportunities for funding for youth based projects, from both large or philanthropic corporations and individuals.

Bridge Builders has been operating for 10 years as a self funded charity. It offers a range of programs and projects that help develop and grow young people. Some of these projects include Girls retreats, skate boarding, music events, event management and schools programs.

Bridge Builders CEO, Phil Stenhouse, is pumped about this new chapter in the life of our organisation. He said “In recent times I have seen so many young people struggling with issues of mental health, family breakdown and disengagement. This new status will enable access to funds that will help us reach, help and support more young people”

It’s like what we always say in our organisation “If you do something for me I’ll thank you, if you do something for my kids I’ll never forget you”. Phil said.

One of Bridge Builder’s young people Laura (15yo) said: “Bridge Builders helps me on a daily basis and I am so happy that we will be able to help more young people like me”.

Welcome!

Welcome!  Let's introduce ourselves.  Bridge Builders Youth and Community Organisation is focused on intentionally building assets into young people, and subsequently their community.  We are an enthusiastic and passionate group of individuals, all with a strong desire to develop and grow young people.  To assist us on this mission, we use the ‘tool’ of project design and delivery enabling relationships to be built between young people and their community, allowing for the opportunity of internal and external assets to be developed from within.

The Bridge, the 'macro' version of these projects, is a multi-million dollar youth, community and corporate facility.  Its greatest intention is to bring young people and their worlds into a common space, so they can be nurtured, confronted, challenged, supported, loved, coached and guided so that they may affect the course of their life and of others.
